So, I haven’t posted a lot here, and that’s because I suddenly got busy with some career news! Namely; after almost two years as Life Editor, I have left The Spectator World. It's been an honour and a pleasure, but I'm on to exciting new things!
What will be doing? Expect a lot more freelance writing (editors, reach out!) — with upcoming pieces in some great publications — and you can still find me writing my regular column in The New York Sun, on all things fashion, tech, cars, and so on. There are some other great things I’m working on, which I can’t talk about, but I can’t wait to share with you all when the time comes.
To shout out my former colleagues: it's been an absolute pleasure to get to know and work with wonderful folks like my pal Alex Larman, the lovely Kara Kennedy, my fellow movie nut Ben Domenech, and fellow country music fan Amber Duke. I also need to give a massive thank you to my great editor Matt McDonald, and to Zack Christenson and Olly Wiseman for bringing me onboard.
It's been a wild few years for The Spectator, with the business going up for sale right after I came on board, and we therefore had less flexibility and budge than hoped, but we got some great pieces done in the Life vertical despite that, with some of my best articles yet.
To highlight a few: my big piece on American Psycho: The Musical is perhaps the best thing I've ever written; I also wrote what I consider the best piece ever written about Vegas; and, more recently I wrote a long piece on the state of crypto.
Finally, there is my cocktail column, which you can read the final edition of in our latest print edition.
2025 has been, um, wild, but I have a lot of exciting things to come and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
As always, thank you for reading,
Ross
